Daniel Caraivan is a human rights activist, holding a bachelor’s degree in administrative and legal sciences, a master’s degree in Romani Studies (sociologist), and is currently a PhD candidate in sociology. He is an expert on Roma issues, an educational mentor, and a human rights monitor. He is the author of the following research studies: “Mixed Marriages and Their Effects on the Ethnic Identity of Roma”; “The Meaning of the Word ‘Lautarism’ and Its Effects on Lautar Music”; “Romaphobia: A Theoretical Approach”; “Aversive Racism: A Contemporary Form of Racism” as well as the autobiographical book On the Edge of the Abyss and other academic articles. Daniel Caraivan is the president of the DANROM Association in Făurei, Brăila County.

Cristina Galalae is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing at the Open University Business School (UK) and a Senior Fellow of Higher Education UK. Her research lies at the intersection of consumer behaviour, critical diversity scholarship and multicultural marketing. A significant part of Cristina’s work focuses on understanding the socio-historical contexts and the experiences of people who are marginalized by the market and / or by the marketing discipline. Cristina’s research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Consumption, Markets and Culture, Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, Research in Consumer Behavior, and The Conversation. She has secured research funding from UK research councils, European funders, and professional associations.

Andrei Ștefan Ghimiși is a scientific researcher at the Institute for Quality of Life Research with a PhD in political science. He has a double bachelor’s degree, Political Science (University of Bucharest) and Law (Faculty of Education Sciences, Law and Public Administration-Târgu Jiu), along with two master’s degrees in their respective fields. Graduate of the PhD program in Political Science at the National School of Political and Administrative Sciences with the research topic: ‘’Roma between integration and cultural identity: optimizing public policies and good practices’’. He has multiple articles and book chapters published, the main themes being: legitimation through nationalism, Ceausescu and the cult of personality, integration of minorities in the European Union, European public policies, minority rights, strategies for the integration/inclusion of Roma people.

Delia Grigore holds a PhD in visual arts – ethnography-ethnology (2004), her doctorate being awarded by the Romanian Academy’s Institute of Ethnography and Folklore. President of the Association Rroma Center „Amare Rromentza”, she is working in the Roma movement for more than 30 years. She is a lecturer at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, teaching Rromani literature and culture and coordinating the Rromani Language and Literature Study Programme. She was, for a maximum number of mandates, a member of the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture’s Barvalipe Academy and a member of “Costache Negri” Writers Society – Romania. In 2023, she was the absolute winner of „Amico Rom” Creation International Contest, organized by „Them Romano” Association – Lanciano, Italy. In 2024, she won the prize for visual arts awarded by Instituto de Cultura Gitana from Spain. Author and co-author of many conferences, articles, studies and books regarding Rromani culture and literature.

Tana Licsandru is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing in the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London. Tana’s main research interests lie in the broad area of transformative consumer research, with particular focus on consumer diversity, inclusion and wellbeing in multicultural marketplaces. Her current projects delve into the ways in which historical and social hierarchies, power, privilege, and individual actions impact the consumption experiences and daily lives of marginalised and racially discriminated groups. Tana’s contributions have appeared in Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, International Marketing Review,Industrial Marketing Management, as well as in edited books.

Manuela Marin is a researcher at the “George Barițiu” History Institute of the Romanian Academy, Cluj-Napoca Branch. She edited a volume of documents on Romii şi regimul comunist: marginalizare, integrare şi opoziţie [Roma People and the Communist Regime: Marginalization, Integration, and Opposition] (2 vol.), Mega, Cluj-Napoca, 2017.

Luiza Medeleanu follows an European PhD in Cultural Studies at Center of Excellence in Image Study (CESI), University of Bucharest in collaboration with Central European University (CEU) and L’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris. Her research focuses on the image of Roma in telenovelas. Currently she teaches Romani Culture and Literature at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures University of Bucharest.

Ioan Valentin Negoi has a PhD in History since 2021, his doctorate degree being obtained from the Valahia University from Târgoviște, Romania. In 2023, he published his doctoral thesis “Deportation of ROMA from Muntenia to Transnistria during the period 1942-1944”. He graduated the Faculty of Humanities, specialization in history within the Valahia University of Târgoviște and the master program of the “Unity of European history” on the same university. He is currently a pre-university teacher. In addition, Valentin is also a librarian/archivist at Roma Education Fund.

Florin-Alexandru-Paul Stan, known online as Alex Stan, is a 24-year-old Roma activist and a master’s student in Social Justice – Human Rights at the University of Sydney. He has gained considerable recognition for his online presence, where he promotes Roma history, culture, and rights through impactful, short educational videos. His content, which addresses both historical perspectives and contemporary issues facing the Roma community, has garnered over 2 million views and earned him a following of more than 20,000 people. Alex’s work aims to challenge stereotypes and foster understanding, using storytelling and factual insights to engage a diverse audience. Beyond his online activism, Alex has also been deeply involved in student representation in Romania, where he held the role of First Vice President of the Romanian Students’ Union.

Ider Nicolae Ștefan is a clinical psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest. Ider holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in trauma psychology from the same institution. His research interests include parenthood, schema theory, and the impact of traumatic historical events on individuals and communities. Ider has authored educational games and co-authored scientific articles.

Alexandru Zamfir is a PhD student at Ovidius University in Constanta, Romania, and a Romani language teacher at The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest – Romania. As a PhD he studies the name of Roma people in Romania, the title of his paper being The Anthroponic System of Roma people in Romania. Historical and Comparative Perspective. He graduated the Faculty of Letters and Sciences with Romanian-English specialization and also a second faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures with the specialization of Rromani-Hindi. His Master degree is in the field of Cultural Studies, regarding the subject of Romanian-Rromani Language and Cultural Interference. The articles published under his name include titles such as: Aspects of the influence of the Rromani language on Romanian language. Argot of Roma origin; The ethnonym „țigan”, from historical name to insult; Names and surnames in the Roma community of Bereasca, Ploiești (Romania).
